The Crystal City Farmers' Market will continue for 2013, in the same location at Grace Presbyterian Church.  The market will run from May 15 through October 9, 2013, on Wednesdays between 4pm and 7pm.

The new lead Market Master will be Sylvia Mitchell (from Kress Farm & Garden Preserve) with Tim Check and Tina Cardosi serving as "backup" or "relief" Market Masters. There is a new Board of Directors for the market as well, consisting of one representative of the Church, one vendor, and one city councilperson from Crystal City.

If you are interested in being a vendor this year, please complete the 2013 Vendor Application and either email a scanned copy to ccfarmersmarket@gmail.com, mail it to the market's mailing address on the form, or you can fax it to (636) 931-1201, attention to Tony Becker.

We are looking forward to another great year!

Just a quick update for everyone-  after 3 wonderful years founding, setting up, and running the market, Ben and Susan DeClue have retired as the market operators!  The market will continue.  A new board has been appointed consisting of Tony Becker, Bob Aucutt and Dana McKean.  We'll announce the new market master and post vendor applications for 2013 shortly.

Although we have suffered with a hot, hot summer, we have been fortunate that our growers have worked hard to maintain their supply of fresh, home-grown produce. We're stlil open though Oct. 10. Hope to see a good crowd. We'll have mums and pumpkins soon along with a fall harvest.

July 11 Crystal City Farmers' Market

Week 7 at the Crystal City Farmers' Market! We had about 17 vendors and some musical entertainment tonight at the market. Oh--the beautiful tomatoes, corn, beans, squash, and other veggies are a delight for the eye and the stomach. We're also blessed to feature some of the best bakers in the area who sell breads, pies, and other great baked goods. Enjoy the slide show of all our vendors. See you next week at the market.

June 20 Market

Fresh produce, baked goods, honey, artisan crafts, dog treats and more await customers at the Crystal City Farmers' Market every Wednesday from 4-7 at Grace Presbyterian Church. Shopping at a farmers market is really a unique experience unlike shopping at a grocery store. Here is a great place to talk to farmers--ask questions--try something new. Don't be in a hurry when you shop here. Look at each and every thing. Some folks go too fast and miss those hidden treasures. Enjoy the pictures from June 20's market. June 13 Market

We had a wonderful farmers' market June 13. Here is a slide show that showcases all the vendors' products. Only at a farmers' market can you get fresh, local produce and have so many varieties to choose from. Supermarkets usually carry only few types and only those that travel well. Please support your local farmers' market every Wednesday from 4-7 pm. We are adding new vendors weekly, and lots of crops are now starting to ripen. Pass this message to your neighbors/family-- Carole Goggin who plays the dulcimer at our market wants to invite acoustic players to stop by and jam with her at the market every other Wednesday. This would be a great opportunity to dust off your guitar, violin, harmonica, or other instrument and come join the circle of musicians.
